This Emaux Ombrants process tile depicts a Northern Flicker woodpecker perched on the side of a western cedar tree. The Emaux Ombrants process involves carving an image into the body of the tile, then flooding the texture with a tinted transparent glaze, which creates darker and lighter values relative to the thicker and thinner layers of glaze.

Oriental Wave Tile Pattern
Based on the traditional Japanese H
okusai prints and paintings, this versatile pattern can be used in a variety of applications. Pictured here in a kaleidoscopic orientation, this tile can inspire you to play and have fun with your walk in shower ideas. Use it in a single row as a simple backsplash, or fill your entire shower with the swirling energy of the ocean! Whether your shower plans involve a full floor to ceiling use of patterned decorative tile, or just a band of color and pattern, this tile can accommodate.
The depth and fluidity of ocean waves are captured in the translucent glaze of this tile. The pattern is not printed on the tile, rather it is embossed into the wet porcelain clay while the tile is still wet. The subtle texture that is left behind is then flooded with tinted turquoise, deep blue or stone gray glaze. In the kiln firing, the glaze melts and pools into the texture, leaving behind varying thicknesses. This is what creates the varying shades of color. All of our glaze recipes are mixed in house in our Missoula, Montana studio. They are the result of years of testing to achieve the subtle color variations, which are derived from natural oxides from the earth, such as copper and cobalt. These deep rich colors are not available anywhere else.
To complete your walk in shower ideas, consider our Border and Field Tile, which can be glazed in a matching glaze color to our patterned tile. This tile is also compatible with most commercial tile. Please note however, that the actual size of each tile is 5 7/8" x 5 7/8", which is slightly smaller than most true 6" x 6" tile. The Oriental Wave tile can also be easily cut on an ordinary tile wet saw, making installation a breeze.

Framed with beautiful dark ash wood frame, these animal tiles will fit with any home decor, from traditional to contemporary in design. The crisp black and white graphics are created from original woodblock carvings by David Regan. Look closely, and you'll notice details that the artist has included, such as the eyes of would be deer hunters, hidden in the leaves of the tree. These graphics are rendered in fired on glaze, making the tiles both durable and beautiful. Perfect both for wall hanging and trivet use

This is an authentic process, no gimmicks, the texture is actually sculpted into the tiles! The lush green glaze, which is mixed in-house from our own original glaze recipe, is made from completely natural materials , such as feldspar and copper, which creates the beautiful, deep glaze surface. Our biophilic glaze colors are imbued with the natural colors of nature because they are mixed from natural ingredients!
To complete your shower tile designs, consider using our matching Border and Field Tile, which comes in varying widths and lengths and can be glazed with matching glaze. The Lush Grass Tile is also compatible in thickness with most commercial tile, and can be easily cut on a normal tile wet saw.
When assembled in a subway pattern, the individual reeds interlock on all four sides, creating the illusion of a thatched wall of grass. The visual depth that is created on this art tile is achieved by first embossing a texture into the wet porcelain clay. The rich green glaze pools in the recesses creating areas of darker value. Run your fingers along the smooth surface of this art tile and you will feel the underlying texture. Size, 7" x 12", never needs watering!
To complete your coastal bathroom ideas, check out our matching border and trim tile, glazed in same Caribbean turquoise or deep blue glaze as your fish tile, this tile can be used to border your backsplash tile or fill in larger areas with a subway oriented pattern.

Arts and Crafts Tile Mural
Now you can design a custom arts and crafts tile mural to fit your bathroom or fireplace surround. By combining the various elements in the pond life tile series, you can create a mural that is custom shaped to fit your bathroom or fireplace surround. All tiles in the series are 6" x 6" and are compatible with each other. The Heron and Cattail sets are vertically oriented elements, while the bass and frog are horizontal. The Lily set, Bluegill and Open Water tiles, can be used to fill in the spaces surrounding. Make your pond wide and shallow, or tall and deep!
These tiles are made using the same process popularized by arts and crafts tile makers in the late 1800's and early 1900's. Each tile is embossed with a very shallow texture, which causes the transparent but tinted glaze to pool in the recesses and recede from the edges, creating a beautiful illusion of depth. As with all tile at Living Walls Tile, each tile is pressed by hand using clay and glaze that are mixed in house. It's real tile, handmade in Missoula, Montana.
The arts and crafts tile pond life series can also be framed and simply hung as wall art.
